A bibliometric study of EAP research: Who is doing what, where and when?

This paper uses a bibliometric analysis to track changes in EAP research over the last 40 years. Based on corpus of 12,600 EAP-related articles from Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) journals, we reveal what topics have been most popular time and which authors, publications source countries influential. The results show that while concerning teaching, learning classroom practices, remained popular, those with focus contexts discourses grown since 2001, substantial attention devoted identity, interaction genre. cited authors also marked shift towards an interest academic writing, language description perspectives underpinning social relationships communication. Finally, our study shows is achieving global reach as affiliated emerging centres research, particularly China, begin make mark field. We believe these findings may be professionals seeking become more familiar field way mapping emergence maturing discipline.
